Ants are probably the most common insects in the world. In fact, there are about more than 10,000 species of ants in the world but they are most prevalent in tropical countries

Ants are considered to be socially enthusiastic because they live in structured communities (if they are human they would love dickies scrubs).. In an ant colony, there are only three kinds of ants: the queen ant, the female ant (workers) and the male ant. Most ant species have only one queen for the colony but the yellow crazy ant species are able to form super-colonies to house multiple queens.

The most impressive trivia about ants is that an ant is able to lift things that are 20 times its weight. Also, ants don’t really have ears and just use vibrations to “hear”. Ants also don’t have lungs and just breath oxygen in through tiny holes all over their body. It is also through these holes that they release carbon dioxide.

Have you seen ants walking on your computer because you have left over food on your desk? Maybe that’s the one reason why you saw an ants. But do you know about the Digital Ants who can help you on your computer?

Scientist from Wake Forest University and The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory have created an army of Digital Ants and their superior officers, digital sergeants, and sentinels, to search out viruses, worms, and other malware. Like their biological counterparts, each ant is not very bright. A connection rate, CPU utilization or one of about 60 other technical details is all they can sense. When an ant detects something unusual, it leaves a digital pheromone, a tiny digital sense that says something unusual is going on here, and other ants should check it out.
